All 2021 payments refundable in the event of Covid-19 lockdown in the Les Arcs ski area

Welcome to skiing heaven! .... The chalet has been described as a 'gold nugget' among skiing accommodation in the French Alps, situated as it is in the truly enchanting hamlet of Le Pré, Villaroger. There are no hotels, no blocks of flats, no nightclubs or disco bars. Just 2 very friendly bars/restaurants in one of the world’s top 10 ski areas for intermediate and advanced skiiers.

We believe the Tarentaise region of France offers the best skiing in Europe. Not just because of Les Arcs*, but also because Val d'Isère, Tignes, La Rosière, Les Trois Vallées and Ste. Foy are all to be found within easy driving distance of the chalet.

Skiing From The Chalet

Le Pré

Located at the quiet end of the Les Arcs area with easy access to the rest of the pistes. It is on north facing slopes which are very sheltered from the wind, so the snow remains in good condition until late on in the season. There are several routes down to the chalet, from a lovely easy run through the trees to the 'tighten your boots and go for it' black run from the top of the Aiguille Rouge (a mind boggling 9 kms even if you don't turn at all!)

La Crème Anglaise opens up to skiing which starts at 1200m and goes up to 3226m. The nearby lift takes you in 3 stages to the main Les Arcs ski area (though the runs above the village are outstanding in themselves). There is a choice of ski passes: the Paradiski, which gives you unlimited access not only to Les Arcs/La Plagne but also offers a free day in each of the other Tarentaise resorts; the Les Arcs pass which is more than enough for most people on a one week holiday.

Villaroger is part of the Les Arcs ski area which boasts 78 lifts and 175 kms of pistes; and is now linked by a 4 minute cable car ride to La Plagne, adding another 109 lifts and 225 kms of pistes. This gigantic ski complex, with 400 kms of marked runs, is called Paradiski.

For boarders the opportunities are terrific: a dedicated snow park, slalom course, floodlit half pipe, etc.

For the plain crazy there is the 'flying kilometre' piste in Arc 2000 (world record nearly 250 kms per hour!) And if you prefer to ski on the flat, Les Arcs has a 15 kms ski de fond course. You can also heliski in nearby Italy.

Ste. Foy

(15 mins drive). A newish resort with some fantastic runs and a huge off piste bowl of snow which sends skiiers and boarders alike into raptures.

La Rosière

(25 mins drive). Miles of cruising pistes with some heart stopping bits thrown in. Links with La Thuile in Italy if you fancy a day out with a pasta laden lunch in the middle.

Val d'Isère and Tignes

(25 mins drive). Need no introduction.

Les Trois Vallées

(60 mins drive) Ditto.
